A pint size version of VentureQuest (our flagship adventure race), this 3-6 hour adventure race is perfect for the sport level racer, achievable for the beginner, and challenging for the advanced level competitor. Racers must navigate their way to find a series of checkpoints as they bike along demanding semi-technical single-track, navigate up and over hills (on and off trail), and paddle the calm waters of a mountain lake. The exact order and distance of each segment is kept a secret until race day but we can tell you that the course will include the most mileage of biking, followed by trail running, and then paddling (a canoe). There are also plenty of surprises, twists, and decision making in this race, all of which will cost or save your team time. This race has been a huge hit in the past and will surely be equally successful in 2008.
Make it an Adventure Weekend at Rocky Gap! The Rocky Gap AR will be the second of two adventure races at Rocky Gap State Park on the weekend of April 26-27, 2008. The third annual Greenhorn Adventure Race is a 2-4 hour beginner adventure race that will take place on Saturday, April 26th. Here is an idea: how about you race in the Rocky Gap AR on Sunday and then your spouse races in the Greenhorn AR on Saturday? OR, how about racing on Sunday and volunteering at the Greenhorn AR on Saturday? Volunteering is a great way to learn what happens behind the scenes, always an excellent method of improving your knowledge.
