Policies

AKA...the fine print
Home → About EX2 → Policies

Racing is super fun…but we know sometimes life gets in the way.  Occasionally, you can’t attend a race that you signed up for because you get injured, your childcare plans fall through, or you just change your mind.  Very rarely, we may need to cancel an event because of really, really bad weather, COVID, etc.  We believe our policies covering these situations are extremely fair and flexible.

If EX2 Cancels a Race…

EX2 Adventures reserves the right to alter, postpone, or cancel any event for safety concerns, both natural and man-made. Whenever possible, cancelled events will be rescheduled to a later date.

If WE (EX2) ever cancel or postpone a race or event in its entirety for ANY reason at ANY time, then you will have these options:

1. Attend the make-up date if one is offered;
2. Defer (i.e., receive a 100% credit); or
3. Receive a full refund (minus the processing fee that was charged when you registered).

If You Can’t Attend a Race…

If YOU (participant) cannot attend an event for any reason, then you will have these options:

1. Receive a credit towards the same race next year or to another EX2 race.  100% credit is provided if you cancel 30 or more days before an event.  50% credit is given if you cancel between 29 and 3 days of an event.  No credit is given inside 3 days from an event.
2. Transfer your entry to someone else for $10.  Transfers must be initiated at least 3 days before an event.  There are no race day transfers allowed.
3. Receive a refund (minus $10 and the processing fee that was charged when you registered) IF you cancel your entry 30 or more days before an event.  No cash refunds are given inside of 30 days from an event.

Please submit cancellation requests to info@ex2adventures.com.

For Sunday races, the deadline for a 50% credit begins at 12:00am on Friday.  For Saturday races, the deadline for a 50% credit begins at 12:00am on Thursday.

Transfers To Another Racer

Transfers can be accomplished via RunSignUp or BikeReg, whatever is applicable to the registration. Please note the transfer deadline is 3 days before the race. There is a $10 transfer fee that is paid by the originally registered participant. Please submit any questions related to transfers to info@ex2adventures.com.

Transfers To Another Event (e.g., 5K to 10K)

Transfers to another event be accomplished via RunSignUp or BikeReg in advance of the race, whatever is applicable to the registration.  You will pay any difference in registration fee when you switch events.  Refunds will not be given for changes to events with a lower registration fee.

If you decided to switch events (distances) on race morning, please tell the team at check-in.  We use different color bibs for different distances, so it’s important that you let us know of the change. If you decide to switch distances after you start an event (e.g., switch from the 10K to the 5K), you will appear as a DNF in the results.
