Summary of COVID Precautions
A summary of our precautions are below. You can read our full social distancing plan here.
- Check-in times will be staggered from 7:30am to 10am. 5 mile runners will check-in between 7:30am and 9:00am and 10 mile runners will check-in between 9:00 and 10am. Note: the 5 mile runners are going first to avoid congestion on the trails since the course is a 5 mile loop. We may need to shift and adjust check-in times based on the number of people that sign up for each race.
- Each check-in group will be about 30 people.
- Groups 10 people (max) will start every 5 minutes. Smaller groups will start if there is not a queue.
- Check-in is touchless and event will be chip timed.
- It is expected that each runner is ready to run when they check-in. Please warm up and use the bathroom before you check-in. Portajohns will be available in the start queue while the runner is getting ready to start. We do not want people checking in and going back to your car.
- Race giveaways (T-shirt) and post-race food and water are grab and go only and pre-packaged. We will have breakfast burritos, but the selection of food will be MUCH smaller than normal.
- Parking, check-in, start, and finish areas of the event will have ample room for social distancing.
- Signage will be used to remind people to wear their face coverings and stay socially distanced at all times.
- Face coverings are required at all times when in check-in, starting, and finish areas.
- Runners must carry a face covering during event (when running) and use when passing if ample distance is not available on the trail. If a racer doesn’t have a face covering, then one will be provided to them during check-in.
- Aid stations are staffed for safety only – no water will be provided with the exception of one water refill station at about the halfway point on the course. Athletes are required to carry their own hydration.
- There is no post-race awards ceremony.
- Runners are not allowed to stay after the race except to cool down.
- Spectators are not allowed.
- Ample restrooms (portajohns and park bathrooms) are available to minimize queues. All restrooms will be sanitized once every 2 hours by EX2 staff.
